Jersey City Police Officer, Michael Spolizino, Indicted on Manslaughter, Two Other Charges in Fatal Crash

Officer Michael Spolizino indicted on manslaughter,Jersey City police officer Michael Spolizino, 36, has been indicted by a grand jury for aggravated manslaughter, death by auto, and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death, NJ.com reports.

According to NJ.com,  the charges stem from an April 19 incident, when Officer Michael Spolizino struck Stephen A. Clifford, 24, of Jersey City, with his car as Michael Spolizino was crossing Kennedy Boulevard at Fairmount Avenue.

NJ.com reports that at 10 p.m. on April 19, off-duty officer Michael Spolizino was driving on Kennedy Boulevard when he struck Stephen Clifford as he was crossing Kennedy Boulevard at Fairmount Avenue.

Stephen Clifford was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:35 p.m., according to NJ.com

According to NJ.com, Officer Michael Spolizino, is scheduled to make his first court appearance today on the charges in front of Hudson County Superior Court Judge Paul DePscale. Read Full Story
